Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Menufy collects only the information necessary to provide the service. This includes:

  • Photos of menus you choose to scan (processed and not stored on our servers)
  • Account information (email address) when you sign in
  • Scan history stored in your account for your personal reference
  • Device identifier for managing free scan allowances
  • Basic usage analytics to improve the app (anonymous)
  • Advertising identifiers, subject to your consent, for showing relevant ads

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data solely to:

  • Provide and improve the menu scanning and translation service
  • Authenticate your account and save your scan history
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
  • Show relevant advertisements within the app (with your consent on iOS)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

Menufy uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Gemini AI — for menu image analysis. Images are sent to Google's API and subject to Google's privacy policy.
  • Supabase — for authentication and database storage.
  • Google AdMob — for serving advertisements. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and usage data subject to your consent. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat — for managing in-app purchases and subscriptions.

4. Advertising and Tracking (iOS)

On iOS, we request your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before accessing your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). You may deny this permission and still use the app — you will simply see non-personalized ads.

You can change your tracking preference at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

5. In-App Purchases

Menufy offers one-time scan pack purchases processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment information. Purchases are managed by RevenueCat and the respective app store.

6. Data Retention

Your scan history is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the app.

7. Children's Privacy

Menufy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for data in transit and follow best practices for data at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
